Waterhole Selected to Lead DHS Information Sharing Advisory Group
Waterhole is honored to have been selected to help lead this meeting that is being managed by the IACP, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and funded through DHS. The Working Group will meet three times in 2009 to identify state, local, and tribal information-sharing and technology needs relevant to DHS’ Science and Technology mission, research portfolio, and its current and in-progress development of technology tools.

Upcoming Forensic Crime Lab Article
Waterhole Software and the National Forensic Science and Technology Center will have an article in the upcoming issue of Public Safety IT Magazine describing the FIDEX project. The article can be downloaded from the crime lab section of our web site.

Waterhole Selected for NIEM Training

Waterhole Software is a NIEM consulting firm that specializes in the development of NIEM IEPDs and JRA technical specifications and architectures for public safety and criminal justice organizations. Innovative development of tools and exchanges for Crime Labs
Waterhole Software is working with the National Forensics Science and Technology Center (NFSTC) and the IJIS Institute to develop a robust architecture for integrating forensic crime laboratories with other exchange partners. To date, this work has resulted in the development of two NIEM based IEPDs. We are currently entering a proof of concept phase which provides an incremental approach to crime lab integration.NIEM.

Developing Technical Specifications
Waterhole Software has worked with law enforcement agencies around the country to model their functional requirements and provide technical assistance for implementing exchanges between agencies and other partner organizations. Waterhole also provides law enforcement agencies technical training to assist them in the procurement of IT systems.
